Special Interest Group (SIG)The COMP@CT network has three Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These SIGs will help Comenius projects interested in a particular ICT area. The SIGs are not concentrating on technology but on pedagogical use of ICT tools.

3 SIGs In COMP@CT there is special interest to the following themes:
How do the SIGs work?
Each Special Interest Group has SIG-coordinator who takes care of the objectives. COMP@CT partners will contribute in one or more SIG. The discussion of each SIG aims and content will be procedured in network meetings or SIG meetings, or online.
Overall objective of SIG's members is that they will provide advice and support on their expertise area to new Comenius projects using ICT. SIGs also provide a reference and test group for tools developed and made available through COMP@CT.
What is the benefit for Comenius schools?
Comenius schools need basic information and guidance in their project work. The aim is that schools could have easily information and guidelines for instance how to start the learning in eLearning environments or what are the basic requirements that school needs to have a videoconference with another school in other country.
Another important aim of SIGs is that they can offer training and other events and tools to Comenius school.
Contacts to MINERVA projects
MINERVA projects also promote and supporte the use of ICT in classroom. Through SIG members we also are connected to MINERVA projects (Socrates Action):
- University of Leuven (BE) is coordinating the project, and the external evaluation of ELISE is done by Rosetta McLeod, Aberdeen County Council (UK) ELISE [E-Learning (in) In-Service (teacher training) in Europe]
- Education Highway (AT) and Aberdeen City Council (UK) are involved with eStream (Increasing the use of Streaming technology in school education in Europe 2003 - 2006).
