SIG 3: Collaborative Working Space

Main focus
The Collaborative Working Spaces SIG helps Comenius teachers and students to use web-based tools. These tools are intended to allow users to share and process their projects collaboratively. These working spaces offer collaboration facilities:

• communication tools
• sharing documents and other resources
• open or restricted websites for processing and publishing documents.

Target group

• primary and secondary schools and teachers

Activities

• training students and teachers to work in collaborative environments;
• using and disseminating models of project work that enables Comenius partners:

to collaborate on project documents etc.; to communicate by using e-mail, mailing lists, discussion forums etc.; to publish their project results and products on the Internet;

• conducting a survey;

to collect information in order to compare and evaluate the web-based tools made available and use of collaborative working spaces offered by the COMP@CT; and to identify their advantages, disadvantages and provide suggestions on how to make better use of them and their facilities;

• disseminating examples of how the various tools can be exploited.

Web Garden is one example of tools developed in COMP@CT in order to help to develop innovative pedagogical methods.
